About me
Shann is a veteran educator, with an array of experiences in early childhood education. She has served as director of a childcare facility, assistant program coordinator for an early childhood intervention program, and a teacher in Head Start and prekindergarten classrooms; she also enjoyed a fifteen year tour of duty in third and fourth grade classrooms. In one of her more unusual experiences, Shann led and taught the virtual learning program for Sherman ISD's early childhood program during the 2020-2021 pandemic school year. She has a master's degree in educational leadership, has worked as an instructional coach, and is now the assistant principal for both early childhood campuses in Sherman. Shann is committed is to bringing her experiences and knowledge to the work of educational leadership to the benefit children and their families, her teaching colleagues, and her community. Shann serves on the board of the Texas Association for Administrators and Supervisors of Programs for Young Children and volunteers for Grayson County Habitat for Humanity. Shann is the mother of six adult children and grandmother of three granddaughters, ages 16, 24 months, and 13 months. They, with her remarkably talented artist husband, Darrah, fill her life with joy and her heart with gratitude.
